ShanaeDear Make-A-Wish,

Shanae and our family had a great opportunity to enjoy the Disney cruise ship for 7 days. This was the first time we had ever had an opportunity to take a trip like this as a family. On the way to the airport the family was so excited. A limo picked us up at our front door. The children were very excited, since this was the first time the children were in a limo. Once we arrived at the airport we took a flight to Florida. In Florida we saw the large Disney ship. What a beautiful sight, the kids could not wait to see Mickey and the inside of the ship. It was amazing, such a beautiful ship. During our stay we had the opportunity to meet other families some other families were also from the Make-A-Wish. I also had the opportunity to share my story with another family that had a tragedy. The staterooms on the ship were very nice, the children loved the opportunity to have their own rooms. On board the children enjoyed themselves all night long. The girls ordered room service, all night and were able to order what they wanted. The ship had seven different restaurants a list of activities for the children and adults every day, so no worries! The staff was great; they were nice and friendly to all the families. The programs offered on the ship for the children where magical! My youngest daughter loved seeing all the Disney characters. Shanae saw different shows every night and went to different interactive plays with the characters.

Also, Shanae could not stay away from the teen club… she was there every night and all night long!!! Sometimes she did not get back to her stateroom until 3 am!!! In the teen club, they had parties every night. PJj’s nite, pool parties, you name it! No parents allowed. Shanae and my other daughter meet a lot of new friends aboard the ship.

The ship stopped at many different port calls. The first was Key West it was gorgeous and the sightseeing and the attractions where cool. The second stop was Cozumel and where we went in a submarine under the sea! We saw a ship wreck and many different colorful fish, it was amazing.

The water was so blue. We did some shopping and sightseeing. Then stopped in Grand Cayman which was beautiful as well… the children loved the opportunity to shop. While in Grand Cayman we took a cab to a beach and enjoyed the water and dining opportunities. Shanae loved the water… she went out into the ocean and enjoyed the all the water activities. She loves to swim and the beaches.

Our final stop was Castaway Cay, what a beautiful island! While we were on this island we enjoyed a day full of activities. We snorkeled, enjoyed the beautiful beach road bikes and barbequed food. We had the opportunity to see the adult side of the island what a beautiful sight! The water was so clear you could see your feet. The ocean looked like I was on a Bahamas commercial. Castaway Cay left Shanae and the whole family speechless, the beach the sights where beautiful.

ShanaeThe trip was a great opportunity for my family and I to set aside all of life’s troubles and responsibilities for 7 days. My family and I had the opportunity to bond and enjoy each other. The girls had the opportunity to enjoy one another. Shanae was able to meet a lot of new friends on the trip and she continues to keep in touch with them. The cruise was a blessing to my family and I. We want to thank the Make a Wish Foundation and all of the donors, volunteers and staff for a job well done. Seeing the smiles on children and families faces for the wishes the foundations make come true are a blessing.

On behalf of my family to yours I say thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my daughter Shanae and our family the opportunity of a life time. The Make A Wish Foundation is “a place where we make dreams come true”.
