Dear Make A Wish,
Our deep thanks and gratitude for the amazing trip we had to Disney. The experience was perfect in every single way from start to finish. I’ll start with the good first because our big happy news is that we were finally able to go on our long awaited trip to Disneyworld in Florida! We had originally booked this trip 2 years ago to celebrate Grace’s 7 birthday and my mom’s 70th. Our trip 3 weeks ago was Felix’s ‘Make a Wish’ dream holiday and boy, was it!!!From the moment we were picked up at home in a stretch limo, every detail had been thought through by the charity. We were able to avoid the queues for all rides and shows at all 4 theme parks, meet all the characters plus lots of extra little perks…… and it just so happened to be the grand finale of Star Wars Weekends at Disney for 2011. All 3 kids trained to become Jedi knights battling against The Dark Force and getting official Jedi certificates. The park was packed with all our favorite Star Wars characters (and believe me, we know them all, who killed who and most importantly if they are goodies or baddies!)When we spotted Chewie casually cruising down the walkway, we all practically hyperventilated with excitement. Despite recent surgeries and internal radiation, Felix had such a blast and aside from a quick blood test in Orlando, he had a 7 day break from hospitals. The trip was magical in so many ways.
We had a very bad turn of events with Felix after returning from our dream holiday. Two hours after landing back in Philly from Disney, Felix started brain radiation.
Our days are now clouded with fear as we built his strength back up and pray that we can keep his progressing cancer at bay.
No matter what the outcome of the next few weeks, nothing can ever take away our perfect moments and memories from this holiday and for that, we are just so incredibly thankful to you, your organization and all of the generous donors that made this happen for Felix and our family.
With Love Always,
Felix’s Family
