It is with sincerest thanks and appreciation that I write this letter.

A little more than a year ago, the Make-A-Wish volunteers- Carol and Susan, visited my home to let me know that they were going to grant me a Wish. At that time, they told me to dream big. I told them that I Wished to go to Jamaica for a vacation with my family. I had never been outside of the US. After looking at many options on the internet, Half Moon at Rose Hall, Jamaica was my choice. I chose this resort, because it had so many activities that my family would enjoy. My Wish had to wait a while before I was healthy enough to go, but Make-A-Wish was willing to wait until the time was right.

This January, 2009 my Wish came true. Carol and Susan visited again and provided us with all the materials that we needed to travel. My family and I traveled to Jamaica. We were able to go on a snorkeling cruise, play golf- 2 times, swim, ride bikes, play tennis, shop and dine at the resort. Every detail was attended to and we had a wonderful time. From the limo to the airport, to the beautiful resort, excellent service, and the limo ride home. I cannot express in words my appreciation for all that you have done.

Make-A-Wish has fulfilled my Wish of taking a dream vacation. I hope that you are able to continue to make Wishes come true for others.

It was a blessing to have so much uninterrupted time as a family together...no email, no cell phones.

There are no words to express our gratitude. This trip was a huge morale booster for Alec because he was physically able to travel to another country, where HE was in charge. Alec did what HE wanted to do. During his cancer treatment he was not in charge. The treatment was in charge. This trip was empowering for him.

As parents, it brought us joy to see Alec smile and interact like he used to prior to his Cancer diagnosis.

We cannot say thank you enough to Make A Wish and all those involved, including Carol and Susan. One can only imagine how much work goes into all the details of planning such a wonderful trip.

Words cannot express the beauty and warmth this trip provided. Make A Wish is a blessing to all children & their families that endure such pain. I will continue tell everyone I see that make a wish should be their 1st place they make a charitable donation… so that you can continue to make children smile!
